Problem (in simple words): When we lodge a civic issue with the government — through grievance portals or in writing — we often do not get a clear timeline for resolution. We also cannot easily track whether our complaint is being acted upon. This reduces trust and discourages citizens from reporting.
What we ask: We petition the concerned authority to:
- Fix and publish standard timelines for acknowledgment and resolution of common types of civic issues (e.g. 3 days for acknowledgment, 15–30 days for resolution where applicable).
- Provide a unique reference number and an online/helpline facility to check the status of the complaint.
- Inform the complainant in writing when the issue is closed, and if not resolved, state the reason and the next step available (e.g. appeal).
We submit this petition with respect and request a time-bound response.
