Quick answer: (1) Keep a copy of the petition and any acknowledgment or reference number. (2) Petitions are often sent to the concerned authority (e.g. ministry, department). Check whether the platform (e.g. DearSarkar, mygov) gives a tracking or response option. (3) You can also raise the same issue through the official grievance portal so it is in the system with a reference number. (4) Share the petition with others who care about the issue — more signatures can add weight.
